NuMorse Version 1.40 Interactive Morse code trainer for Windows
WINDOWS MAY96 MORSE CODE RADIO AMATEUR NUMORSE TEACH LEARN ASP
FILES: NMORS14
Author: Tony Lacy <ASP>
Registration: $29.00
This program is a Morse code training aid. It is used to achieve
user proficiency in receiving code. This is a requirement of the
amateur radio licensing authorities in most countries. The program
generates accurately timed Morse code in the Windows operating
environment. In the early stages of learning, it can play as
slowly as required. Once basic proficiency is obtained, sending
speed can be increased up to and beyond the level required by the
users local regulations. NuMorse is packed with features. The
following is a listing of just a few:
Sound card support. Capability to mix speech and Morse code. User
can choose characters to learn and add extra characters as required.
Code can be played from random character stream, text file, keyboard,
or QSO generator. User can alter code style to improve clarity.
User settings can be saved and reloaded. Full Prosign support is
included. Detailed statistics on user performance can be gathered.
Several modes are supported that perform character guessing drills.
The user can guess the character and NuMorse will respond in various
ways including a phonetic speech correction. The program can be set
to speed up and slow down in response to user responses. Log files
will record user keystrokes as well as program output. Like any
Windows application, the clipboard allows cut & paste editing of
program text into other applications. Characters can be statistically
weighted to send some more often than others. Code can be output by
sound card (preferred), PC speaker, code oscillator on printer port,
or built-in semaphore window. Control codes in the text files allow
speed changes, voice narration, and screen messages to be mixed with
Morse code. The script files that control the random QSO generator
are user programmable and can be configured to work in languages
other than English. A comprehensive on-line help system is included.
NuMorse contains many more features that have not been listed here.
